SANDS
The series 'Sands' was my first venture into the fascinating field of Black & White photography. The great dunes on the island of Gran Canary, the coastline of Sylt in Northern Germany as well as the beaches of the Boston South Shore were my inspiration. The play of light, the ever shifting shapes and textures are more sharply defined and stand out clear and crisp in Black & White. I hope that – looking at these images – you can hear the wind and feel the sun just as I did during these moments of solitude in the midst of nature.
Die Serie "Sands" ist mein erster Ausflug in die faszinierende Welt der Schwarzweissfotografie. Die grossen Dünen auf der Insel Gran Canaria, die Küste Sylts und die Strände der Südküste von Boston haben mich dazu inspiriert. Das Spiel des Lichts, die sich immerfort ändernden Formen und Muster erscheinen in Schwarzweiss schärfer definiert und umrissen. Ich hoffe, dass der Betrachter den Wind hört und die Sonne auf der Haut spürt – so wie ich beim Fotografieren inmitten der wunderschönen Natur.
